National Lakeshores
The National Lakeshores, all situated on the Great Lakes, closely parallel the national seashores in character and use. Some are developed and some relatively primitive. At present, there are 4 national lakeshores in the National Park System.
Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
Features 21 forested islands and a 12-mile strip along the south shoreline of Lake Superior, with more than 50 miles of maintained trails.Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
Extending nearly 25 miles along southern Lake Michigan, it features beaches, 180-foot dunes, bogs, marshes, swamps, prairie remnants, and historic sites.Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
