Colorado's Best State Parks

With 40 state parks, Colorado offers a variety of experiences -- from forested mountain parks to reservoir parks and river parks.

In the northwest portion of the state, Steamboat Lake State Park, located 30 minutes north of Steamboat Springs, offers incredible camping, water sports and scenic relaxation.

Sylvan Lake State Park, 16 miles south of Eagle, is a great secluded getaway. Quiet and remote, there's good fishing and non-motorized boating.  Try the camper cabins available at Sylvan Lake and several other state parks in Colorado.

For those traveling near the Colorado Springs/Pikes Peak area, Mueller State Park is a highly rated campground. Eighty miles of trails offer a variety of outdoor opportunities, and the hands-on, fun exhibits in the park's Visitor Center are a definite "must-see" for all ages.

Near the Denver area, Roxborough State Park, a day-use park, has been designated a national natural landmark by the Department of Interior.  Dramatic red-rock formations and wildlife viewing make this a very special park.
