The Arizona State Parks Board voted on January 15 to close 13 more of the state's parks by June. The department plans to close the 13 state parks in three phases:
February 22 Closures:
- Homolovi Ruins State Park
- Lyman Lake State Park
- Riordan Mansion State Historic Park
March 29 Closures:
- Fort Verde State Historic Park
- Roper Lake State Park
- Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park
- Tubac Presidio State Historic Park
- Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park
June 3 Closures:
- Alamo Lake State Park
- Picacho Peak State Park
- Red Rock State Park
- Tonto Natural Bridge State Park
