© icelight via FlickrA swarm of earthquakes that began on Sunday at Yellowstone National Park continued this morning and the magnitude of the tremors is increasing.
As of 9:20 a.m. today, 424 earthquakes had been recorded in the swarm with the highest tremor at a magnitude of 3.3. So far, scientists state that although the tremors seem to be normal tectonic activity, they will continue to monitor the situation. And no, there is absolutely no connection between what is occurring in Yellowstone and the magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti.
The most devastating earthquake in recent history in the Yellowstone region occurred on August 17, 1959, when a magnitude 7.3 earthquake hit killing 28 people.

And no, there is absolutely no connection between what is occurring in Yellowstone and the magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti.
This comment that they put in the news story makes me a little mad. Do research and you will see that
just after the 1985 Mexico Earthquake we seen the biggest ever swarm of quakes in Yellowstone. They are linked, after all quakes are up in numbers all over the world after the Haiti earthquake.
When a tectonic plate grinds or jumps under or over another in one part of the world it pushes or pulls on another plate somewhere else. it is inevitable something will move somewhere or else there would be no earthquakes.

The statement about the earthquakes not being related came from a doctoral student in geophysics who works at the University of Utah. Through their research, the university has found that recent tremors seem to be normal tectonic activity and there have been 80 swarms of tremors since 1995. Farrell said that there is absolutely no connection between what is occurring in Yellowstone and the magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti.
“They are completely different systems,” said Farrell. “They are not related.”
Such sentences as “there is no connection..” annoy me too – its just you dont see the connection – and the connection is the the galactic-volcanic Mayan Prophecy about December 2012- and I say that not lightly but after five years research.
Whole lot of shakin’ going on everywhere…For the second time in the past two weeks, a 6+ quake occurred here in Northern California. And a 3.3 magnitude quake happened earlier today in the Texas Panhandle region. Not to mention the quake swarms that have been happening in the areas around the New Madrid fault, and in the north eastern states. Seems that parts of the US that have not been seismically active for a very long time have suddenly begun to quake and shake over the past or two month. And the same can also be said for the entire pacific rim. Kinda of makes you wonder if al of this activity isn’t leading up to a more global seismic event.
