© Tambako the Jaguar via FlickrWolves have historically been known to roam the national parks of Washington, including North Cascades, Mount Rainier, and Olympic National Parks. And now it is up to us to help return them to the state.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has finalized a Wolf Conservation and Management Plan which will determine how wolves are managed as they return naturally to Washington from nearby states. The plan will be released today and starting on October 20, 12 public hearings will be held around the state allowing the public to comment on how to improve the plan.
All the hearings will be from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and will be held until November 10th. Check out the complete listing of locations and be sure to note the contact person listed for each hearing. That person will assist in how to attend.
