© Seamus Murray via FlickrStarting May 15, Montana livestock producers around Yellowstone National Park will have to test their cattle for brucellosis before they are allowed to move animals out of the region. What is brucellosis? It can cause pregnant cows to suffer miscarriages.
The disease has been wiped out nationwide except for the wildlife in an around Yellowstone. Testing will be required in seven counties: Beaverhead, Carbon, Gallatin, Madison, Park, Stillwater, and Sweet Grass.
The many agree it is important to have the brucellosis-free designation, some livestock owners actually oppose the plan because they believe it will create a stigma for Yellowstone cattle. What do you think? Share your opinion below!
